Hi! I'm Matti Kemppainen, a game developer from Kajaani, Finland. I'm studying game programming, but I've been in game designer and artist roles aswell. I have a huge interest in technical art and shaders.
Here are some game projects I would like to highlight:
This was my first time being solely in a game designer role. The game is a unique mix of two genres which combines into a First Person Shooter-Cooker. In the game you need to kill demonic vegetables and cook them into a delicious dish to complete your customers' orders. Because of the unique genre-mix, I focused on designer simple game mechanics, that are still interesting for the player.
This game is a finnish folklore inspired 3D platformer. In this project I worked on as a programmer, game designer and level designer. I made a custom 3D character movement and abilities that feel good to play with kb+m and controller. I also learned about enemy AI the first time in this project, when I was making the boss enemy of the game. I made a small open world map that is fun to explore and where the player always has a new point of interest in their sight.
A chaotic multiplayer shooter with pogo sticks and bazookas. I was a programmer in this game but also contributed to the game design by designing and prototyping the character movement. This was my first multiplayer project and I learned a lot about how replication works for clients and hosts.
